    The 2024 GGWCUP Finals ignited a vibrant mix of cultures in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia! 13 teams from 10 countries showcased their passion for sportsmanship and social change.

    A new league where teams play for the planet and have the chance to win funding to scale their Purpose Projects. In Detroit, the League is hosted by Detroit City FC, and game nights typically share the schedule with the DCFC Women PASL team, making it a night dedicated to Detroit women in football.

    On October 13, 2018 twenty-four teams from across South Africa and abroad took part in the first South African Global Goals World Cup: GGWCUP Johannesburg. Teams from local qualifier tournaments in Limpopo, Kwa-Zulu Natal, The Free State and Gauging made their way to Johannesburg.

    GGWCUP East Africa 2020: 34 teams played for the Global Goals on International Women’s Day (March 8th) at the KCCA StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda.

    Mariam Mpaata organized the GGWCUP in Kampala, partnering with Afrika Sports Foundation Centre and FUFA. We first met Mariam in 2017 at the GGWCUP Nairobi, and again in 2018 when her team, Soccer Divas, competed at GGWCUP Johannesburg.

    “Visited Gredos San Diego schools (ages 5-12), reaching 1,000+ students and teachers. Each child got a plant, and classes received extras. We discussed Global Goal 15, other goals, and environmental respect (animals, water, recycling). Younger children learned about equality and respect (boys & girls). A positive and rewarding experience!”

    Team Kafo from Saudi Arabia secured an impressive second-place finish at the 2021 GGWCUP Finals held in Reykjavik, Iceland.

    Formed in 2019, the team brings together students and young professionals aged 22-26. Their journey to the finals began with a victory at the inaugural GGWCUP Saudi Arabia, hosted by the Saudi Sports for All Federation in September 2021.

    #GGWCUP | Huerta Argos FC plays for SDG 2 - Colombia 2023

    Historic Debut in Medellín. The Global Goals World Cup (GGWCUP) arrived for the first time in Medellín, Colombia, marking its Latin American debut in April 2023. Nineteen teams competed in the tournament, with the winning team, Malala FC, taking home the championship while also playing for Global Goal 5. Their victory earned them a trip to the international GGWCUP Finals in Saudi Arabia in 2024. Impact Hub Medellín hosted the tournament

    The 16th GGWCUP held in Amman, Jordan in May 2021 was the first Global Goals World Cup (GGWCUP) held in the Middle East in Arabic. The tournament was created in partnership with local host Rise for Good.

    Third Global Goals World Cup Finals in NYC during UNGA week. We transformed SAP NextGen's event space on the 48th floor into a sky-high soccer field. HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway officiated as a referee during the tournament.

    It all started with one man and his three skateboards on the streets of Kabul in 2007. His idea became Skateistan, the first international development initiative to combine skateboarding with educational outcomes. Although it started in Afghanistan, Skateistan now runs in Cambodia and South Africa too, reaching thousands of children and youth.

    120 teams battled it out over 3 days at the Roskilde Music Festival. The exciting competition took place during the warmup period at the City Center West camp area. Danish national football player Christian Eriksen and handball legend Mikkel Hansen refereed some of the games.
